Cheaper alternatives to Sportlink: 5 options compared (2026)
Why switch from Sportlink?
Sportlink is a robust system, but there are reasons why more and more associations are looking for alternatives:
- Price: For larger clubs the costs rise to €500–€800 per year, excluding any extra modules
- Interface: The system ran for a long time on Java, which caused it to no longer work for some users. The new version is more modern but is still seen as complicated
- Limited modules: Facility hire, events, volunteer planning and accounting are not or barely present. You need additional tools
- Not suitable for non-sport associations: Community centres, village halls and cultural associations do not fit well in the sport-focused system

When to choose Sportlink?
Sportlink remains the best choice if your club:
- Is required to be KNVB-connected and wants to automatically forward competition results
- Wants to make use of the KNVB pass scheme
- Is already deeply integrated into the Sportlink ecosystem and does not want to switch
For everything outside these scenarios there are cheaper and more complete alternatives available.
How to switch?
With most systems you can import your existing member list from an Excel export. For Verenigingsplanner this is done via a simple CSV import. You set up the system for free and only pay when you are satisfied and go live.
